Top Fives: Saves - No 5 David Seaman

We're focusing on Arsenal's finest SAVES this week with expert analysis from two former Gunners, Kenny Sansom and Martin Hayes.

In fifth place with eight per cent of the vote is David Seaman's save from Brett Ormerod in the 2003 FA Cup Final.

SEAMAN v SOUTHAMPTON (N) 17-05-2003

David Seaman had his critics in his final season before retirement but he answered them in the

 grand manner with two outstanding saves in his last two FA Cup appearances.

We might hear more about another of those later in the week but today we're focusing on the stop Seaman made in his final Arsenal match - the 2003 FA Cup Final.

The Gunners had been largely in control at the Millennium Stadium but only had Robert Pires' first-half strike to show for it. And Southampton came on strong in the final stages of the game.

Their best chance fell to Brett Ormerod with seven minutes left. He turned past Oleg Luzhny and hit a fierce shot goalwards but Seaman, as focused as ever, showed his reflexes to divert the ball wide.

That save effectively clinched the Cup for Arsenal and Seaman himself lifted the trophy with Patrick Vieira just moments later.
